What is Chagas Disease?
•On April 14, 2020, World Chagas Disease Day is being observed for the first time. [The day is observed to spread awareness about this “silent and silenced disease”.]
•Chagas disease is called silent because it progresses slowly, and silenced because it mainly affects the poor people who often lack political voice and proper health care.
•It is classified as a neglected tropical disease (NTD), meaning it affects the low-income populations in developing countries across the globe.
[It is also called the American trypanosomiasis]
•Symptoms include fever, muscle pain, headache, difficulty in breathing, abdominal or chest pain and enlarged lymph glands
•It is a unique initiative by Telangana govt. titled Consumer-Farmer(Confarm) is being implemented to ensure food availability to consumers and secure income for farmers
•Confarm initiative was started in 2018 by Deccan Development Society (DDS) and Disha Collective, the two community-level organisations.
•Under this, consumers support a group of farmers in the beginning of a farming season with about Rs 12,500 per acre for their farming needs.
•In return, at the time of harvest, consumers are given products according to the value they invested leaving the middlemen out
What is CollabCAD?
•It is a collaborative network, computer enabled software system, providing a total engineering solution from 2D drafting & detailing to 3D product design.
•The aim of this initiative is to provide a great platform to students of Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) across country to create and modify 3d designs with free flow of creativity and imagination.
•Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog & National Informatics Centre (NIC) jointly launched CollabCAD in ATL schools
•In light of the current situation, the ATL program has launched a ‘Tinker from Home’ campaign to ensure that the children across the county have access to useful easy-to-learn online resources to keep themselves fruitfully occupied

What is helicopter money?
•American economist Milton Friedman coined this term, [This is an unconventional monetary policy tool aimed at bringing a flagging economy back on track.
It involves printing large sums of money and distributing it to the public
•It basically denotes a helicopter dropping money from the sky. [Friedman used the term to signify “unexpectedly dumping money onto a struggling economy with the intention to shock it out of a deep slump]
•Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has suggested RBI to adopt the concept of Helicopter Money to help state governments tide over the current crisis and kickstart economic activity in India.

What is Convalescent Plasma Therapy?
•It also known as passive antibody therapy, provides a person with already developed antibodies to fight a virus.
•Under the Plasma Therapy, the COVID-19 patients will be infused with an antibody-rich blood plasma of the people who have recovered from the novel Coronavirus
▪️How it Works?
•The person who recovers from a virus has developed antibodies that stay in blood to fight the same virus, if it returns. And if these antibodies are infused into other person infected with the same virus, they recognise the virus and attack it.
(However, these antibodies stay for short period in other person’s blood)
•Recently, Kerala has got the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) approval for the clinical protocol exploring the feasibility of convalescent plasma transfusion which may be administered to severe Covid-19 patients
