School Health Programme (SHP) under Ayushman Bharat
•It is a joint collaborative programme of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Human Resource Development. [launched in 2018]
•The initiative targets both Education and Health and intends to facilitate an integrated approach to health programming and more effective learning at the school level
•Under the programme teachers act as “Health and Wellness Ambassadors” and disseminate various key information by organising culturally sensitive activity based sessions for one hour per week for 24 weeks in a year to promote joyful learning.
•Further, the students act as Health and Wellness Messengers in the society. And every Tuesday is dedicated as Health and Wellness Day in the schools.

National Aquifer Mapping and Management program (NAQUIM)
•It was initiated as a part of the Ground Water Management and Regulation Scheme to delineate and characterize the aquifers to develop plans for ground water management
•NAQUIM envisages mapping of aquifers (water bearing formations), their characterization and development of Aquifer Management Plans to facilitate sustainable management of groundwater resources
•NAQUIM is being implemented by the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB).

India-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF)
•It was established under an agreement between the Governments of India and the United States of America in March 2000
•Its mission is to act as a catalyst to promote long-term scientific collaborations between India and the U.S. through partnerships amongst individual scientists, scientific institutions and the scientific community at large
•The Department of Science & Technology (DST), Governments of India, and the U.S. Department of State are respective nodal departments for this program.
▪️Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) It is launched by India, under this upto 1000 American academics will be invited and hosted each year to teach in Indian universities at their convenience.
Green Companies (GreenCo) Rating System
•GreenCo Rating System has been developed by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
•It is the “first of its kind in the world” holistic framework that evaluates companies on the environmental friendliness of their activities using a life cycle approach
•The system evaluates the companies on 10 broad green parameters, including GreenHouse Gases (GHG) reduction, renewable energy use etc.
[Accordingly, ratings are provided which remain valid for three years]
•Its mission is to facilitate Indian industry to make a substantial improvement in their environmental performance thereby saving both natural and financial resources
Negev Light Machine Guns(LMG)
•India has signed an agreement with Israel for procurement of Negev light machine guns(LMG)
•Negev is a light machine gun(LMG) with powerful target acquisition.
[It was adopted by the Israeli Defence Forces in 1997.]
•It has semi-automatic mode to provide accurate, controlled fire in close quarter battle.
•LMG is designed to be employed by an individual soldier, with or without an assistant, as an infantry support weapon.

What is Windrush Generation and Windrush scandal?
▪️Windrush generation It refers to the immigrants who came to the UK between 1948 and 1971 from Caribbean countries
•They are referred to as Windrush Generation which relates to a ship named ‘Windrush’, which brought them to the UK shores in 1948.
[While a large proportion of them were of Jamaican/Caribbean descent, they also included Indians and other South Asians]
▪️Windrush scandal It is a 2018 British political scandal concerning the Windrush Generation who were wrongly detained, denied legal rights, and some were wrongly deported from the UK.
